Abstract: The present invention discloses a shear mount (100) comprising a lower housing (102), a support platform (106) having three wall surfaces (125). An upper housing (112) for enclosing a compression rod (108) and a compression cover (110) enclosing the support platform (106), conforming with shape of the three wall surfaces (125). At least three electro active polymers (104) coupled to the three wall surfaces (125) for initiating a three-point contact with the compression cover (110) to dissipate vibrations from the compression rod (108) onto each of the electro active polymers (104).
