Abstract: Abstract: The present invention discloses a sensor-based intelligent system for automated cleaning of overhead water storage tanks. The system integrates sediment detection sensors, water level monitoring units, and an automated mechanical cleaning mechanism controlled by a microcontroller-based adaptive control module. The cleaning mechanism comprises a rotary telescopic scrubbing arm equipped with cleaning brushes and multi-directional spray nozzles capable of reaching different internal surfaces of the tank. Upon detection of sediment accumulation or water turbidity beyond a predefined threshold, the system automatically initiates a cleaning cycle including rotational scrubbing, sediment agitation, and controlled flushing through a drain valve. The adaptive control module analyzes sensor data to determine optimal cleaning intervals, thereby minimizing manual intervention while ensuring hygienic water storage conditions. The invention provides a reliable and automated solution for maintaining overhead water tanks in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
