Abstract: Title: A SENSOR-BASED WEARABLE APPARATUS FOR REAL-TIME FALL DETECTION A wearable fall detection apparatus comprises an inertial measurement unit (1), a central processing microcontroller (2), an audio alert transducer (3), an electronic 10 visual display (4), a wireless communication interface (5), a rechargeable electrochemical cell (6), and a wearable mounting band (7). The inertial measurement unit (1) continuously gathers three-axis acceleration and angular rate data from a wearer. The central processing microcontroller (2) analyzes the sensor signals using a dual-parameter algorithm to verify impact acceleration magnitude and subsequent 15 postural tilt changes. When a fall is confirmed, the central processing microcontroller (2) activates the audio alert transducer (3) to deliver an immediate local alarm. Concurrently, the central processing microcontroller (2) shows visual warnings on the electronic visual display (4). The central processing microcontroller (2) transmits emergency alert packets via the wireless communication interface (5) to a cloud 20 database server to trigger real-time push notifications on remote caregiver devices. Power is supplied continuously by the rechargeable electrochemical cell (6) housed within the wearable mounting band (7).
