Abstract: ABSTRACT: A Self-Powered Multimodal Intelligent Knee Implant System for Predictive Orthopedic Health Assessment This invention describes an artificial intelligence-integrated self-powered bio-zirconium knee implant as shown in Fig - 1 configured for predictive monitoring of implant-bone interface integrity. The implant incorporates physiological motion-driven piezoelectric energy harvesting, multimodal nano-sensing of mechanical, biochemical, structural, and thermal parameters, event-triggered diagnostic activation, body-conductive communication, and patient-specific predictive analytics. Mechanical loading generated during routine activities is converted into electrical energy to power sensing and monitoring functions without implanted batteries or external power sources. Acquired data are analyzed using an artificial intelligence framework that establishes an individualized biomechanical reference profile and continuously evaluates deviations indicative of implant degradation, osseointegration failure, osteolysis, inflammatory processes, fatigue-related deterioration, or loosening. Diagnostic information is transmitted to an external receiver through body-conductive signaling pathways for local or remote clinical assessment. The invention enables autonomous, continuous, and predictive orthopedic surveillance, facilitating early intervention and improved long-term implant management, particularly in resource-limited and remote healthcare environments.
