Abstract: A self-locking spice storage container for storing powdered, ground, and granular spices while preventing unwanted opening, contamination, and loss of freshness. The container comprises a storage vessel body defining a containment volume, an upper dispensing aperture/top mouth (120), a resilient airtight sealing gasket, a handle (110), and a self-locking lid assembly. The lid assembly includes an actuation trigger member (112) operatively coupled through an internal lever arm (122) to a spring- loaded latching mechanism comprising a coil spring (126) and an auto-lock latch hook (128). Actuating the finger trigger (112) displaces the internal lever arm (122) to pivot the top cover (116) about a hinge (114) into an open position (118), releasing the latch hook (128) against the biasing force of the coil spring (126) to permit controlled spice dispensing through the top mouth (120). Upon release of the trigger (112), the tensioned coil spring (126) automatically drives the top cover (116) back down and re-engages the auto-lock latch hook (128) over the top rim (120), immediately resealing the container in a hermetic resting state to isolate the contents from ambient air, moisture, and steam without requiring manual reclosure.
