MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611059944 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Pharmacy Institute on May 12, 2026, for A Self Healing Drug Loaded Polymeric Matrix.
Inventors include Anmol Dogra; and Dr. Rajnish Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The invention provides a self healing drug loaded polymeric matrix comprising a polymer backbone network, reversible crosslinking regions, drug retaining microdomains, hydration responsive channels, and an outer contact surface. The matrix restores continuity after mechanical damage by forming a healed interface through dynamic reassociation of polymer segments. The drug retaining microdomains release an active pharmaceutical ingredient through regulated hydrated pathways while limiting burst release caused by cracks or tears. The matrix is suitable for films, dressings, implants, injectable depots, patches, and localized dosage forms.
