Abstract: The present invention relates to a Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SEDDS) comprising Atorvastatin for improving aqueous solubility, dissolution rate, and oral bioavailability. The formulation comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable oil, surfactant, and co-surfactant capable of spontaneously forming fine emulsions or nanoemulsion upon dilution in aqueous media. In one preferred embodiment, the formulation comprises Capmul MCM, Cremophor RH40, and Transcutol P. The invention provides enhanced drug release, improved dispersion stability, and suitability for oral lipid-based pharmaceutical dosage forms.
