Abstract: The present invention is related to a self-contained autonomous night-patrolling mobile robot designed for night-time patrolling. The disclosed system addresses the technical challenge of achieving reliable and uninterrupted security monitoring in low-light or no-light conditions without requiring human intervention. The proposed solution is a self-contained autonomous night-patrolling mobile robot that includes a chassis (105) equipped with wheels (106) powered by DC motors (109), which are managed by a motor driver module (108). A Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (102) functions as the central processor, integrating ultrasonic sensors (104) for obstacle detection, PIR motion sensors (101) for detecting human presence, and a Pi Camera NoIR (100) for capturing night-vision images. The system utilizes OpenCV and YOLO algorithms to enhance human detection accuracy and reduce false alarms. An IoT communication module facilitates real-time alerts, remote monitoring, and cloud- based data transmission. The robot operates autonomously within designated areas, offering effective and scalable security solutions for industrial, commercial, and restricted-access settings.
