Abstract: The present invention relates to a seat assembly for a vehicle, comprising a seat base, a seatback pivotally mounted to the base via an adjustable recliner, and a load floor angle adjustment mechanism for positioning the seatback. The mechanism includes a stationary frame component attached to the seat base, a moving frame component attached to the seatback, and a stopper plate with recessed ledges. A ratchet plate with a roller, mounted on the moving frame, engages with the stopper plate to lock the seatback in at least one position. A double-acting spring connected to the ratchet plate facilitates smooth transitions between locked and unlocked states. The load floor angle adjustment mechanism allows the seatback to be set at various positions, including a fold-flat position and an intermediate cargo position, without manual intervention. The mechanism is adapted to prevent unwanted movement while enabling smooth adjustments by the occupant for improved seating and cargo configurations. Ref. fig. 1
