Abstract: TITLE: “A ROTARY TOOL FOR JOINING A TUBE TO A HEADER PLATE OF A HEAT EXCHANGER CORE” [055] ABSTRACT 5 A rotary tool (100) for joining a tube (200) to a header plate (300) of a heat exchanger core includes an elongated body (1001) receivable within a tool retention module (401) at a proximal end (1011) and an operational section (1021) at a distal end (1031). The operational section (1021) includes a conical segment (1121) for insertion into a ferrule (201) positioned 10 within the tube (200), a cylindrical segment (1221) with a pre-defined diameter to abut an inner diameter of the ferrule (201), and a relief portion (1321) formed along the conical segment (1121) and the cylindrical segment (1221). The cylindrical segment (1221) radially expands the ferrule (201) and tube (200) against the header plate (300) through rotation and axial advancement to form a bond. The relief portion (1321) receives swarf material and 15 facilitates withdrawal of the rotary tool (100). Fig. 1 is a representative figure.
