Abstract: ABSTRACT A rotary drum-based hank dyeing system (100) comprises a hank colouring drum (116) having a liquid-retaining reservoir, a drum cover (102), a drum cover support (114), a stand (118), a shaft supported by pedestal bearings, rotating discs (106), drapery rods (104), a V-belt pulley (108), an AC motor (110) and a gearbox (112). The rotating discs (106) are mounted in spaced relation on the shaft, and the drapery rods (104) extend between the rotating discs (106) at circumferentially spaced locations. Yarn hanks are supported with respective ends on different drapery rods (104) and are arranged alternately around the rotating discs (106). The AC motor (110) drives the shaft through the V-belt pulley (108) and gearbox (112), thereby rotating the drapery rods (104) and the supported yarn hanks through liquid retained in the hank colouring drum (116). The system is particularly suitable for small-batch textile processing. The figure associated with abstract is Fig. 1.
