Abstract: A REFLECTION-BASED INTRAORAL IMAGING DEVICE FOR DENTAL EXAMINATION AND A METHOD OF OPERATING THE DEVICE THEREOF ABSTRACT 5 A reflection-based intraoral imaging device (100) for dental examination is provided. The device (100) includes a mouthpiece unit (103) to be inserted into a mouth of a patient. The mouthpiece unit (103) includes one or more antifogging mirrors (106)/ (108) placed at a 45-degree angle to each other, allowing for a clear reflection of an 10 oral cavity of the patient. The device further includes a body section (105) configured to detachably attach the mouthpiece unit (103) to an adjustable phone holder (102), providing structural integrity and easy handling. The device further includes the adjustable phone holder (102), detachably attached to the mouthpiece unit (103) via the body section (105) for securing a smartphone and including an adjustable screw mechanism 15 for a precise alignment for ensuring correct positioning of a smartphone camera to capture one or more images reflected via the mouthpiece unit (103).
