Abstract: ABSTRACT A RECYCLING SYSTEM FOR ABSORBENT HYGIENE ARTICLES AND METHOD THEREOF The present invention discloses an integrated semi- automated recycling system (100) and method for processing used absorbent hygiene articles in a hygienic manner. The system includes a hopper (102), shredding unit (104), followed by a mixing and purification chamber (106) where water, disinfectant, and salt water are introduced to sanitize the shredded material and dissolve super absorbent polymer (SAP). The treated mixture undergoes density-based separation, allowing plastic components to float while cellulose fibres settle. A microcontroller- control unit (112) comprising rack and pinion mechanism is used to collect floating plastic, and a gate-valve-operated mesh collection chamber enables recovery of cellulose in a separate chamber. The present invention integrates mechanical shredding, chemical treatment, and automated separation within a unit, reducing manual intervention and improving material recovery. Fig.1
