Abstract: AN REAL-TIME LANDSLIDE DETECTION SYSTEM The present invention discloses a novel, cost-effective, and energy-efficient landslide detection system designed for real-time monitoring of roadside slopes. The system integrates infrared sensors, an ESP8266 microcontroller, a GPS module, and a LoRaWAN gateway to detect terrain disruptions indicative of landslides. When a disruption is identified, the infrared sensors send a signal to the ESP8266 microcontroller, which processes the data and determines the precise location of the event using the GPS module. The collected data, including sensor status and GPS coordinates, is transmitted to a centralized cloud-based platform via the LoRaWAN gateway. A user-friendly dashboard displays real-time data, enabling stakeholders to analyze information, issue alerts, and take timely action to mitigate disaster risks. The system addresses the limitations of traditional high-cost and complex solutions, providing a scalable, low- maintenance alternative suitable for remote and resource-constrained regions. This innovation enhances road safety, infrastructure protection, and disaster preparedness effectively and affordably.
