MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076181 A) filed by Sr University on June 19, 2026, for A Real-Time Deception Detection System Using Multi-Channel Eeg And Adaptive Machine Learning With Cognitive Calibration Layer.

Inventors include Boda Eramma; and Dr. Sridhar Chintala.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: A REAL-TIME DECEPTION DETECTION SYSTEM USING MULTI-CHANNEL EEG AND ADAPTIVE MACHINE LEARNING WITH COGNITIVE CALIBRATION LAYER An advanced real-time deception detection system monitors neural signals using multi-channel electroencephalography (EEG) and adaptive machine learning to resist countermeasures. The system includes a cognitive calibration layer that executes a brief initialization phase recording honest responses to establish an individualized baseline profile. A continuous signal preprocessing pipeline filters out biological noise and muscular artifacts. An adaptive machine learning model continuously evaluates incoming preprocessed neural data against the established cognitive baseline to categorize responses as truthful or dishonest. Concurrently, a countermeasure detection module monitors neural and muscle variances to flag deliberate manipulations like controlled breathing or meditation. Transparent and legally justifiable diagnostic tracking is achieved by integrating an explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) engine using SHAP or LIME framework layers to map precise brainwave feature contributions. The low-power, portable platform delivers immediate feedback, suitable for real-time field interrogations.
