MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511003858 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research on January 16, 2025, for A Ready-To-Drink Pearl Millet Beverage And Process For The Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Perichitala Vasudev Nethra; Bhagyalakshmi Satheeshkumar; Linganna Shivakumar; Krishnegowda Anil Kumar; Pradeep Singh Negi; Prabhasankar Pichan; and Subban Nagarajan.

Abstract: The present invention provides a ready to drink pearl millet-based beverage composed of pearl millet, spice extractives, natural sugars and natural food colourants. The ready to drink millet based drink as disclosed in present invention has a low glycaemic index. The present invention further provides a process of preparation of RTD millet-based beverage wherein, the drink is flavoured with ginger oleoresin, pepper powder, cardamom oil along with coconut milk powder, palm sugar and coloured with natural food colourant using curcuminoid formulations.
