The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a reactor (100) for reduction of iron ore. The reactor (100) includes a reduction chamber (102), a feeder (104), a gas supply unit (106), a percolated plate (108), a first heating element (110), and a second heating element (112). The reduction chamber (102) includes a top portion and a lower portion. The feeder (104) is positioned in the top portion and is adapted to feed iron ore pellets into the reduction chamber (102). The gas supply unit (106) is adapted to supply one or more reducing gases into the reduction chamber (102). Herein, the one or more reducing gases comprise at least one of hydrogen and ammonia. The first heating element (110) and the second heating element (112) facilitate the multimode heating of the bed of iron ore pellets in the presence of the reducing gases to reduce the iron ore pellets.
