Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a ratchet-assisted timber retrieval tool (100) configured to provide controlled incremental pulling of a second workpiece (12) toward a first workpiece (10). The tool (100) comprises a handle (102) having an anchoring nail (104), a casing (106), a lever-actuated ratchet assembly (108), a cam drive assembly (118), and a holder (132). The lever-actuated ratchet assembly (108) comprises a lever (110), a first pawl (112), a second pawl (114), and a ratchet gear (116). The cam drive assembly (118) comprises a shaft (120), a cam (122), a sleeve (124), a pin (126), a slot (128), and a runway (130). Reciprocating movement of the lever (110) rotates the ratchet gear (116), and the cam drive assembly (118) converts rotation into guided linear displacement of the holder (132).
