MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631112377 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Guwahati on September 18, 2026, for A Radiative Cooling Film For A Solar Cell.
Inventors include Sourodipto Das; and Debabrata Sikdar.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT “A RADIATIVE COOLING FILM FOR A SOLAR CELL” The present invention relates to a radiative cooling film for a solar cell comprising of a flexible polymer substrate, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate, and a stack of multilayers arranged in 14 alternating layers from top to bottom, where the radiative cooling film allow more incident photons to reach the perovskite, increasing absorbance and resulting in an absolute efficiency enhancement of 1.07%, integrating passive radiative cooling with selective reflection in the sub-bandgap wavelength range that reduces the calculated operating temperature by approximately 10°C, improving the absolute efficiency by 2.69%, thereby yielding a combined absolute power conversion efficiency enhancement of approximately 3.76%.
