Abstract: ABSTRACT A PROCESS OF PREPARING MALEMIDE FUNCTIONALIZED CHLORO XYLENOL FORMALDEHYDE RESIN 5 The present invention provides a process of preparing a maleimide functionalized chloro xylenol formaldehyde resin. The present invention provides the synthesis of chloro xylenol resins amenable for functionalization which is modified by a maleimide derivative and the maleimide modified novel chloroxylenol resin is subsequently polymerized. This functionalization enhances 10 the thermal insulation, adhesiveness and EMI shielding properties of the resin thus obtained from the process of the present invention.
