Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF SYNBIOTIC HERBAL FUNCTIONAL DRINK APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a process of preparation of synbiotic herbal functional beverage, the process comprising: a. culturing Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum in MRS broth at predetermined temperature to obtain a probiotic culture; b. fermenting the culture under anaerobic conditions in sealed fermentation vessels to produce postbiotic metabolites; c. preparing an herbal extract by cold maceration of: i. Mint leaves (Mentha × piperita): water, ii. Indian borage (Plectranthus amboinicus): water, iii. Coriander leaves (Coriandrum sativum): water, iv. Lemon juice (Citrus limon): water; d. preparing a prebiotic component by dissolving inulin in purified water under continuous stirring to obtain a prebiotic component; e. combining the postbiotic metabolites, herbal extracts, and prebiotic component with purified water to form a mixture; f. homogenizing the mixture and filtering through a membrane filter and packaging under aseptic conditions in sterilized containers to obtain synbiotic herbal functional beverage.
