Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN SCAFFOLD FOR TARGETED DELIVERY OF GROWTH FACTORS, STEM CELLS AND ANTIBIOTICS APPLICANT: DR. RAGUNANTHAN NARAYANASAMY ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a process of preparation of novel platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) scaffold for targeted delivery of growth factors, stem cells, and antibiotics to tissue sites requiring healing or infection control. Autologous blood is centrifuged under controlled conditions to separate plasma, which is combined with an antifibrinolytic agent and antibiotic solution in a sterile environment to form a stable scaffold. The resulting structure exhibits a flat surface, mechanical resilience to shear and compression forces, and self-adhesive properties that enable firm attachment to tissue surfaces. The scaffold’s upper layer is enriched with platelets, while the lower layer is fibrin-rich, ensuring sustained release of biological agents. Stem cell preparations may be incorporated at the time of surgical application to enhance regenerative potential. This invention overcomes limitations of conventional PRF gels by providing applications in non-healing ulcer treatment.
