Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF PLANT-BASED PHOTOACTIVATED THERANOSTIC TOOTHPASTE FOR BIOFILM CONTROL AND ENAMEL REPAIR APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The present invention shall discloses a process for preparing a plant based photoactivated theranostic toothpaste composition for precision biofilm control and enamel repair comprising: a. preparing aqueous extracts of blueberry fruit, green tea leaves, and pomegranate sarcotesta by subjecting each dried plant material to extraction in distilled water, filtration to obtain aqueous extracts of blueberry, green tea, and pomegranate; b. extracting chia seed mucilage by soaking chia seeds in distilled water, filtration to obtain chia seed mucilage; c. preparing a bioadhesive hydrogel matrix by combining the chia seed mucilage with xanthan gum and homogenizing to obtain bioadhesive hydrogel matrix; d. incorporating the blueberry extract, green tea extract, and pomegranate extract into hydrogel matrix under stirring and adding calcium phosphate or hydroxyapatite nanoparticles, together with glycerol and peppermint oil to obtain mixture and homogenizing the mixture until a uniform toothpaste consistency is achieved and filling into laminated tubes with light protective barriers.
