Abstract: The present invention discloses a process for preparing high refractive index benzoxazine-sulfur copolymers. The copolymer comprises a compound of Formula X selected from Copolymer A, Copolymer B, Copolymer C, and Copolymer D, each derived from cardanol-based benzoxazine monomers and elemental sulfur. The process comprises preparing the benzoxazine monomer by condensation of cardanol, paraformaldehyde, and an amine, followed by inverse vulcanization with elemental sulfur to form a sulfur-rich crosslinked polymer network containing sulfur-sulfur and sulfur-carbon linkages.
