Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF FUNCTIONAL HERBAL CHIPS FROM CISSUS QUADRANGULARIS APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT The present invention disclose a process for preparing a functional herbal chips from Cissus quadrangularis (Pirandai), comprising: a. cleaning fresh stems of Cissus quadrangularis (Pirandai), and cut into pieces followed by immersing the fresh Pirandai pieces in curd at a material to curd ratio, maintaining at predetermined temperature to form treated Pirandai pieces; b. removing the treated Pirandai pieces from curd and washing with potable water to eliminate residual curd and grinding using a homogenizer to obtain a processed mass; c. molding the processed mass into circular discs and frying in refined sunflower oil with an oil to chip ratio to obtain functional herbal chips. The present invention also disclose a functional herbal chips from Cissus quadrangularis (Pirandai), prepared by the process as described above.
