Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF DISINFECTANT-COATED DISPOSAL BAG FOR ABSORBENT HYGIENE PRODUCTS APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT A process for preparing a multilayer disinfectant-coated disposal bag for absorbent hygiene products, comprises of dissolved polylactic acid (PLA) granules in chloroform under continuous stirring to obtain a polymer solution to form an outer biodegradable layer. The polymer solution is laminated onto a wax-coated cellulose sheet under compression to form a composite sheet comprising the biodegradable layer and a leak-resistant barrier layer. The inner surface of the composite sheet is spray-coated with an antimicrobial solution comprising chlorhexidine gluconate and silver nanoparticles dispersed in ethanol, followed by drying to form an innermost disinfectant layer. An intermediate odor-neutralizing polymer matrix is prepared by extruding a polymer blend containing activated carbon powder and cyclodextrin and positioned between the barrier and disinfectant layers. The resulting multilayer sheet is heat-sealed into a pouch configuration, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive strip coated with polyvinyl acetate emulsion is attached along the mouth to provide a secure self-sealing closure.
