Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF BREAD FRUIT SEED OIL SOAP AND PRODUCT THEREOF APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI COLLEGE OF NURSING ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a process of preparation of soap composition for cosmetic and therapeutic skin care applications comprising: a. cleaning and parboiling matured breadfruit seeds, followed by draining and de hulling to obtain kernels followed by sun drying and milling into flour; b. extracting oil from the flour using n hexane in a Soxhlet apparatus to obtain crude oil; c. purifying the crude oil by degumming with hot water, neutralizing with sodium hydroxide solution, and bleaching with activated charcoal to obtain purified breadfruit seed oil; d. warming the purified breadfruit seed oil and slowly adding a lye solution prepared by dissolving sodium hydroxide pellets in distilled water, under continuous stirring, adding breadfruit leaf extract obtained by aqueous extraction of fresh leaves (fresh leaves with distilled water), to form a mixture; e. pouring the mixture into molds and allowing to harden, followed by curing in a ventilated area to obtain soap composition.
