Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF A BIODEGRADABLE HERBAL COOLING PATCH WITH THERMO-RESPONSIVE CONTROLLED RELEASE FOR FEVER MANAGEMENT APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI COLLEGE OF NURSING ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a process of preparation of a biodegradable herbal cooling patch for fever management, comprising the steps of: a. dissolving sodium alginate and gelatin in purified water under controlled stirring to form a homogeneous polymer gel matrix; b. incorporating aloe vera, tulsi leaf powder, peppermint oil, menthol, and eucalyptus oil into polymer gel matrix under continuous stirring to form a mixture; c. adding Pluronic F127 thermo responsive hydrogel and glycerol into the mixture under controlled stirring to form a suspension; d. casting the suspension into thin sheets and drying under controlled humidity and temperature to form dried sheets; e. cutting the dried sheet into predetermined patch dimensions and layering with a skin safe biodegradable adhesive backing of carboxymethyl cellulose-based hydrocolloid adhesive and sterile packaging in moisture protective pouches to obtain biodegradable herbal cooling patch.
