Abstract: ABSTRACT A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PYROXASULFONE INTERMEDIATE The present disclosure relates to a process for the preparation of 4-((4,5-dihydro-5,5-dimethylisoxazol-3-ylthio)methyl)-5-(difluoromethoxy)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1- methyl-1H-pyrazole (Pyroxasulfone intermediate). The process of the present disclosure requires comparatively shorter reaction time and also generates comparatively less impurities. The process of the present disclosure is simple, efficient and economic. Further, the present disclosure provides a commercially scalable process for the preparation of Pyroxasulfone intermediate of Formula I with a comparatively better yield and better purity.
