Abstract: ABSTRACT “A PROCESS FOR THE LOW TEMPERATURE SYNTHESIS OF CONDUCTING COPPER SULFIDE (CuS) THIN FILMS” The invention relates to a process for the low-temperature synthesis of conducting copper sulfide (CuS) thin films. In the first step, CuS nanoparticles are produced via a room-temperature wet chemical process. These nanoparticles are employed in two pathways: (i) a spray coating process for deposition of conducting CuS thin films on glass substrates, and (ii) formulation of a conducting ink suitable for application on flexible substrates such as PET and paper. The CuS films obtained by spray coating exhibit strong optical absorption in the visible range and very low electrical resistivity (~10?5 O·m), enabling their use as electrodes. The conducting ink pathway provides a scalable route for flexible and low-cost opto-electronic applications. The invention thus offers dual approaches for commercialization of CuS films and inks in the opto-electronic industry.
