MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617077380 A) filed by Topsoe As on June 23, 2026, for A Process For Stabilization Of An Unstable Raw Hydrocarbonaceous Product.
Inventors include Bendtsen, Anders Broe; Bansal, Nitesh; and Mccarthy, David Norman.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: A first aspect of the invention relates to a process for production of a stabilized hydrocarbon product from solid feedstock, said method comprising the steps of, providing a solid feedstock for thermal decomposition, directing said solid feedstock for thermal decomposition to a thermal decomposition process to provide a fluid product of thermal decomposition and a solid phase, directing as raw feedstock at least an amount of said fluid product of thermal decomposition and an amount of hydrogen to contact a material catalytically active in hydrogenation of conjugated diolefinic carbon-carbon bonds under active conditions for hydrogenation of conjugated diolefinic carbon-carbon bonds, characterized in the ratio between hydrogen and raw feedstock is from 1 Nm3/m3 to 100 Nm3/m3. This has the associated benefit of such a process requiring only a low amount of hydrogen, while still providing a stabilized hydrocarbon product for transport.
