Abstract: A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING REPRODUCIBLE STRIPED KHADI FABRIC ABSTRACT The invention relates to a hand-based textile manufacturing process for producing reproducible striped Khadi fabric suitable for institutional garments. Cotton fibres and polyester staple fibres are manually blended in a ratio of 60:40 to 80:20 and hand-spun to obtain blended yarn. The yarn is converted into skeins and subjected to manual resist-based space dyeing to form alternating dyed and undyed segments. The dyed yarns are arranged in a predetermined warp sequence and woven on a handloom using plain weave to generate longitudinal stripe patterns without jacquard, printing or automated patterning systems. The resulting fabric exhibits reduced shrinkage, improved durability and high colour fastness, enabling reproducible patterned Khadi suitable for long-term institutional use while preserving decentralized hand-based production.
