Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for producing Dimethyl Ether (DME) from Carbon dioxide (CO2) and Hydrogen (H2). The process comprises of mixing CO2 and H2 in a pre-determined ratio to produce syngas, sending the produced syngas to a compressor for raising pressure of the syngas and passing the syngas through a DME reactor, the DME reactor comprising of a number of catalysts. The process further includes cooling the syngas and sending the syngas to a separator, sending the un-condensed syngas from the separator to a DME/Methanol absorber column, and transferring the water from the absorber column to a DME separation column to separate the DME consisting of unreacted CO2. Finally the process concludes by sending the DME consisting of unreacted CO2 to a CO2 separator to separate out the unreacted CO2 and obtaining pure DME from bottom of the separator. {Figure 1}
