MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078080 A) filed by Natural Harmony Private Limited on June 24, 2026, for A Process For Preparation Of Purified Steviol Glycosides From Stevia Rebaudiana Leaves.
Inventor includes Lalitha M Timmaraju.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparation of purified steviol glycosides from Stevia rebaudiana leaves. A processed leaf material is mixed with water and subjected to extraction at an elevated temperature under ultrasound irradiation to obtain an aqueous extract. Insoluble plant residue is separated, and the aqueous extract is passed through a hybrid purification column comprising a biodegradable adsorbent resin and activated carbon disposed within a single housing. The column retains steviol glycosides while concurrently removing pigments, bitter compounds, polyphenols, off-flavour compounds, and soluble impurities. The retained steviol glycosides are recovered using an aqueous eluent, concentrated, and dried to obtain purified steviol glycosides. The process provides high-purity steviol glycosides with reduced bitterness in an efficient and environmentally sustainable manner. FIG. 5
