MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a process for preparation of an herbal tea bag formulation with enhanced bioactive retention and functional properties, comprising a. cleaning fresh radish leaves, followed by washing to obtain cleaned leaves and pre-treating by blanching and immersing in an antioxidant solution comprising lemon extract and ascorbic acid, followed by draining and cooling to obtain pre-treated leaves; b. subjecting the pre- treated leaves to dual-stage drying comprising shade drying and low-temperature hot air drying to obtain dried leaves followed by pulverizing and sieving to obtain radish leaf powder; c. blending the radish leaf powder with mint leaves, ginger powder, tulsi leaves, lemongrass, hibiscus petals, cinnamon powder, and green tea powder to obtain powder formulation; d. filling the powder formulation into biodegradable food-grade tea bags and sealing the tea bags and packaging in moisture-resistant laminated aluminum foil sachets having a polyethylene inner lining to obtain herbal tea bag formulation.
