MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611087989 A) filed by Rswm Limited on July 18, 2026, for A Process For Manufacturing Polyester-Based Spun Yarn With Linen-Like Texture And Appearance.

Inventors include Mr. Rk Gagrani; Mr. Ajay Pangadiya; and Mr. Rajeev Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an energy-optimized process for manufacturing a 100% polyester-based spun yarn replicating the microstructural, tactile, and visual properties of natural flax linen without auxiliary slub attachments at the ring spinning stage. The process involves preparing three independent categories of polyester fibers: pre-dyed fibers in linen tones, normal staple length grey fibers, and specialized short cut-length fibers (~12 mm). These categories are carded into precursor slivers and fed into a finisher draw frame utilizing a 4+4 grindle feeding configuration split into two independent functional zones. During high-speed drafting, the short fibers undergo controlled random slippage due to roller gauge mismatches, producing micro-level fiber clusters and localized density variations. The grindle arrangement prevents complete cross-fiber homogenization, preserving distinct multi-shade, irregular micro-bands. The material is spun on a conventional high-speed ring frame, yielding a durable, wrinkle-resistant yarn with a linen-like dry, crisp hand feel.
