Abstract: ABSTRACT “A PROCESS FOR FABRICATING SILVER-BASED GAS DIFFUSION ELECTRODE (Ag-GDE), Ag-GDE OBTAINED THEREFROM AND APPLICATIONS 5 THEREOF” The present disclosure provides a process for fabricating a silver-based gas diffusion electrode (Ag-GDE) by brush plating. Particularly, the method comprises brush plating silver (Ag) nanoparticles on at least one microporous layer (MPL) side of a carbon substrate to obtain the 10 Ag-GDE. The process of the present disclosure enables selective deposition of silver ions on MPL side of the carbon substrate on the carbon substrate. Additionally, the Ag-GDE of the present disclosure may be used for conversion of CO2 to CO with one or more of better product selectivity, higher faradaic efficiency and higher CO2 conversion efficiency compared to Ag- GDE prepared by traditional electrodeposition method. The present disclosure also provides a 15 membrane electrode assembly and zero gap electrolyser for conversion of CO2 to CO and comprising the Ag-GDE of the present disclosure.
