Abstract: TITLE: A PROCESS FOR FABRICATING ECO-FRIENDLY MICROSCOPE EYEPIECE COVERS USING NATURAL JATROPHA CURCAS LATEX APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a process for fabricating a reusable, biodegradable, and skin-compatible protective cover for microscope eyepieces comprising: a. filtering freshly tapped latex exudate of Jatropha curcas plants and diluting latex filtrate with distilled water followed by adding glycerol and sodium benzoate under continuous stirring to obtain a latex mixture; b. pouring the latex mixture into a tubular mold and curing to obtain cured latex cover, c. demolding the cured latex cover and subjecting to sterilization by autoclaving to obtain protective cover for microscope eyepieces. The present invention also discloses a reusable, biodegradable, and skin-compatible protective cover for microscope eyepieces, prepared by the process as described above.
