MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079924 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology on June 29, 2026, for A Process And System For Water Leakage Detection In Buildings Using Dual Water Flow Sensors.
Inventor includes Gulshan Taj M.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a system and process for water leakage detection in buildings using dual water flow sensors and IoT-based monitoring. A first flow sensor measures inlet water flow and a second flow sensor measures outlet water flow. A microcontroller calculates the respective flow rates and compares the difference against a predefined leakage threshold to determine leakage conditions. The processed data is transmitted to an IoT cloud platform and displayed through a mobile application showing Flow 1, Flow 2, and leakage status as NORMAL or LEAKAGE_DETECTED. The invention provides a non-intrusive, low-cost, scalable, and real-time leakage monitoring solution for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings, promoting water conservation and sustainable infrastructure management.
