Abstract: A pressure-balanced waterproof venting system for electric vehicle battery packs is disclosed. The system includes a vent housing mounted on a battery pack wall, an outer deflector cover, a tortuous inlet passage, a liquid separation chamber, a drainage outlet, a hydrophobic membrane, a supporting frame, a pressure balancing valve, and a mounting seal. The arrangement permits controlled bidirectional air exchange during pressure variation while diverting water away from the membrane region and reducing liquid ingress through the battery enclosure port.
