Abstract: The present invention relates to a predictive engine maintenance system and method using vibration signature analysis. The system includes a vibration sensing unit for capturing engine vibration signals, an operating parameter interface for receiving engine speed, load, temperature, operating hours, and maintenance-related data, a signal conditioning module for filtering and normalizing vibration signals, a feature extraction module for deriving time-domain and frequency-domain vibration features, an adaptive baseline generation module for establishing normal vibration behaviour of the engine, a fault prediction module for identifying abnormal vibration deviations and predicting probable engine faults, and a maintenance decision module for generating actionable maintenance recommendations. The invention detects early-stage mechanical faults such as bearing wear, imbalance, misalignment, looseness, valve train abnormality, mounting defects, lubrication issues, or combustion irregularity. The system assigns severity and confidence values and supports condition-based maintenance, thereby reducing unexpected breakdown, false alarms, repair cost, and engine downtime.
