Abstract: The present invention relates to a handheld portable battery-operated oral suction device for stroke patients configured for removal of oral fluids, saliva, secretions, and mouth-rinsing fluids during oral care procedures. The device comprises an ergonomic housing, a battery-powered suction pump, an oral suction tip and tubing assembly, a detachable biofluid collection canister, an electronic suction control system, and a rechargeable power source. The collection canister comprises a graduated chamber, a fill-level detection mechanism, and an anti-backflow valve assembly configured to prevent reverse contamination. The device further comprises selectable suction levels, a soft-start suction control mechanism, a diagnostic oral fluid sampling port, a HEPA exhaust filtration unit, and a multi-modal alarm system for monitoring operational conditions. The invention enables safe and effective oral fluid management in stroke patients, reduces aspiration risk during mouth rinsing, facilitates simultaneous diagnostic specimen collection, and improves caregiver convenience through portable, single-handed operation.
