MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611075202 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University on June 17, 2026, for A Portable Non-Invasive Device For Early Detection Of Latent Neuromuscular Dysfunction.

Inventors include Dr. Pious Divya Pt; Dr. Hemant Kumar Pt; Vanshika; Tisha Upadhyay; Ankita Dass; and Ridhima.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to neuromuscular assessment instrumentation. Conventional EMG, NCV and imaging systems are bulky, costly, hospital-based and miss latent early-stage dysfunction. The invention provides a portable non-invasive device comprising non-invasive surface sensors (12) that capture bioelectrical signals, a signal-conditioning unit (14) that amplifies and filters them, an embedded processor (16) executing a neuromyolatent detection routine evaluating response latency, amplitude variation and muscle-activation pattern to derive an indicator of latent neuromuscular dysfunction, a display (18) outputting the indicator as a weakness index in real time, a rechargeable power supply (20), an optional connectivity module (22) for telemedicine, all housed in a lightweight enclosure (24). The compact device enables early detection in clinical and home settings.
