Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyherbal phytocosmetic composition for topical application comprising extracts of Salvia rosmarinus, Nelumbo nucifera and Aloe barbadensis, together with natural collagen obtained from chicken feet, incorporated in a cosmetically acceptable emulsion base. The bioactive phytoconstituents are selected through computational molecular docking against skin-ageing-associated targets including collagenase, elastase, hyaluronidase, matrix metalloproteinases and pro-inflammatory mediators. The composition provides antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, collagen-protective, elastin-protective, hyaluronic-acid-protective, moisturizing and skin-conditioning effects. The invention further relates to a process comprising preparation and standardization of the botanical extracts, alkaline and acid pretreatment followed by hydro-extraction of collagen from chicken feet, preparation of oil and aqueous phases, emulsification, incorporation of the extracts and collagen, homogenization and cooling. The resulting composition is suitable for improving skin hydration, elasticity, firmness and appearance and for reducing visible signs associated with skin ageing.
