Abstract: ABSTRACT A PASSIVE SELF-REGULATING PRESSURE AND FLOW CONTROL VALVE FOR WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS AND METHOD THEREOF Disclosed is a passive, self-regulating pressure and flow control valve for water distribution systems. The valve comprises an inlet chamber (10), a converging venturi section (12), a throat region (14), a diaphragm (16) biased by a compression spring (22), a diffuser section (24), and an outlet chamber (26). Water accelerating through the venturi (12) and throat (14) generates a pressure differential that acts on the diaphragm (16), deflecting it against the spring in proportion to the inlet pressure, thereby varying the effective flow area at the throat (14) and establishing a dynamic equilibrium that continuously and simultaneously regulates both the outlet pressure and the flow rate. The diffuser downstream recovers static pressure and reduces turbulence prior to discharge. The valve operates entirely without electricity, sensors, controllers, or manual adjustment, offering a compact, low-cost, low-maintenance solution suited to domestic, agricultural, and remote/off-grid water distribution applications.
