The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to aquaculture pest management, and provides a passive floating trap system for attracting, intercepting, capturing, and retaining aquatic and semi- aquatic serpents with improved reliability over conventional single-cue or manually operated traps. The system comprises a water-resistant polymeric housing, one or more inverted entrance funnels with inwardly narrowing passages, a collection chamber, a multi-mode lure mechanism including a chemical lure in a sealed water- resistant chamber and a sealed secondary thermal and/or vibration lure module, a buoyancy system, and an access door. A mechanical one-way flap or valve at the narrow end of each entrance funnel permits inward entry and resists reverse escape. Preferred embodiments include dark internal surfaces, a refugium tube, tethering arrangements, linked trap modules forming a floating barrier, and non-target selectivity features. The invention is principally useful for passive serpent control in ponds, raceways, channels, and similar aquaculture environments.
