MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641079987 A) filed by Sona College Of Technology on June 29, 2026, for A Passive Mechanical Tremor-Attenuating Drinking Apparatus.
Inventors include Padma T; and Saravanan K G.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT A passive mechanical tremor-attenuating drinking apparatus (100) for assisting users experiencing involuntary hand tremors is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an outer support frame (110) configured to be held by a user, an inner vessel holder (130) configured to support a drinking vessel, a mechanical isolation assembly (140) disposed between the outer support frame (110) and the inner vessel holder (130), and a passive mechanical motion-control assembly (150) comprising at least one inertia-modifying element and at least one damping element. The mechanical isolation assembly (140) establishes a mechanically decoupled motion- transmission path, while the passive mechanical motion-control assembly (150) cooperates therewith to attenuate tremor-induced oscillatory motion transmitted from the outer support frame (110) to the inner vessel holder (130). The apparatus provides frequency- selective passive mechanical filtering that attenuates higher-frequency tremor motion while permitting lower-frequency intentional drinking movement. The apparatus operates without electrical power, electronic sensors, control circuitry, motors, or active actuators. FIGURE 1&2.
