MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641068531 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 01, 2026, for A Passive Cooling Device For Electronic Components.
Inventors include Venugopal T; Mohammed Irshaad; Abdullah Khalid; and P. Tamil Selvan.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: A cooling device (100) and a method (200) for an electronic component includes a hollow metallic block (102) having a first end (102A) to be in a thermal contact with electronic components and a detachable cap (104) for hermetically sealing an opening in a second end (102B) of the hollow metallic block (102); fins (106) extending from an exterior surface of the hollow metallic block (102) to dissipate heat absorbed by the hollow metallic block (102) to ambient air; and a predefined coolant fluid (108) to be filled in the hollow metallic block (102) through the opening such that heat from the electronic components absorbed at the first end (102A) is reabsorbed by the predefined coolant fluid (108) for being redistributed across the exterior surface of the hollow metallic block (102) such that the redistributed heat is further reabsorbed by the fins (106) for being dissipated to ambient air there through.
