MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641110939 A) filed by Raptee Energy Private Limited on September 16, 2026, for A Passive Converterless Apparatus For Direct Current-Link Voltage Measurement And Fault Detection.
Inventor includes Koshy George.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A passive converterless apparatus for direct current-link voltage measurement and fault detection, is disclosed. Said apparatus broadly comprises: a power converting member (1); a voltage stabilising member (2); a voltage scaling member (3); a current regulating member (4); an isolating member (5); and an at least a marshalling member (6). The disclosed apparatus offers at least the following advantages: improved functional safety coverage; configurable diagnostic thresholds; continuous bus monitoring without active switching; elimination of a dedicated isolated DC-DC converter; elimination of the converter as a potential failure mode; reduction of converter-induced switching noise; independent physical verification of DC-link voltage; detection of welded contactors; detection of stuck-open or stuck-on battery management system (BMS) switching elements; detection of high-resistance wiring paths; detection of partial short circuits and unintended discharge paths; and inherent protection against transient overvoltage conditions.
