MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621061075 A) filed by Symbiosis International Deemed University on May 13, 2026, for A Nudge-Based, Technology-Enabled Devrai Model For Urban Biodiversity Restoration Integrated With Smart City Systems.

Inventor includes Dr. Aasha Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A NUDGE-BASED, TECHNOLOGY-ENABLED DEVRAI MODEL FOR URBAN BIODIVERSITY RESTORATION INTEGRATED WITH SMART CITY SYSTEMS The present invention relates to a sensor-integrated urban biodiversity restoration system (100) implementing a technologically enabled Devrai model, comprising a distributed sensor node array (101), an edge computing gateway (102), a cloud-based biodiversity processing server (103), a nudge-based mobile engagement apparatus (104), and a smart-city integration interface (105). Sensor nodes (101) deployed across designated urban micro-forest plots acquire soil moisture, ambient humidity, ambient temperature, particulate matter, acoustic signature, and canopy imagery data, which are conditioned and aggregated by the gateway (102) and transmitted over a low-power wide-area network (106) to the server (103). A hardware-accelerated inference module (107) executes species-suitability computation and issues context-aware nudges via apparatus (104) to registered citizen stewards (108). The system (100) achieves measurable ecological restoration, improved sensor energy efficiency, and reduced network latency, rendering it industrially applicable across municipal, educational, and infrastructural deployments.
